 This competition is about respect for life expressed in the music and song that you create, alone or with others.

Your view on respect for life could be in terms of celebration or protest, admiration or disgust, hope or disillusion.It could pose questions or demand answers.

Your view could deal with heroes or villains, people who uphold respect for life or those who destroy it; those who make stands, or those who just stand by.  It could speak of individuals, or the community; personal behaviour or public laws.

Your view could frame a new story, or reflect a piece of history.  It could be emotional or clinical; release our tears or build our outrage.  It could paint an ideal world, or tell a tale of ugly reality.

Your view could speak of young person's dreams or of old person's memories; of a young person's plans, or old person's regrets.  It could deal with the beginning of life, its middle, or its end.  It could speak of shining moments or moments of loss; it could speak of moments of faith, hope or love.  It could shine the light on family joy, or cast a shadow on lonely singleness.

Your view could lay down a challenge, or call us to account.  It could offer praise, or rebuke as gutless.  It could touch our hearts, or disturb our consciences.

Your view could be light-hearted, but it should be wholehearted.  It should make us want to sing your song with you and play it again.
